The China Pavilion is catching the eyes of visitors at the Milan Expo with its unique rippling-wheat appearance and excellent displays.
At a press conference on May 21, 2015, Wang Jinzhen, chief government representative of the China Pavilion and vice chairman of the China Council for Promotion of International Trade, noted that by May 20, the China Pavilion had welcomed 250,000 visitors and 41 groups of distinguished guests from various countries as well as international organizations, academic institutions, and enterprises, leading the Expo in terms of visitor volume and quality of exhibits. It has served as a stellar platform for disseminating Chinese philosophy and culture.
The China Pavilion presents the theme Land of Hope, Food for Life and showcases the highlights of the country in the fields of traditional Chinese agricultural civilization, agricultural scientific innovation, and food culture.
5 Sections
China Pavilion is composed of five exhibition sections: Preface, Heaven, Earth, Human and Harmony.
The “Preface” hall shows an introduction video of the China Pavilion and functions as a waiting area for visitors entering the pavilion.
The “Heaven” hall displays the four seasons and solar terms, showcasing Chinese wisdom and respect for nature and its laws.
The “Earth” hall presents a fantastic visual installation composed of more than 20,000 LED optical fibers, a reflection of the pavilion theme “Land of Hope.”
The “Human” exhibition hall is the primary exhibition space of the China Pavilion, which itself is divided into three chapters:“Agricultural Civilization”, “Food, Humans First Necessity” and“Wisdom for the Future.” Creative exhibits and interactive installations are both included.
The “Harmony” exhibition hall, the climax of the China Pavilion, screens the short film Reunion to summarize the previous sections with a story of family reunion during Chinese New Year.
Other parts of the China Pavilion include a pavilion restaurant, souvenir shop, VIP lounge, office area, and an information center for the 2019 Beijing World Horticultural Expo.
