Textile industrial value added up 6.7% in Q1
Textile industrial economic figures showed recently, China's textile industrial value added expanded 6.7 percent year on year in the first quarter of 2015, the data slightly lower than the level of GDP growth and compared with a few years ago it has dropped significantly.
Investment up 15.42%
The investment scale of textile industry continues to expand in the first quarter of 2015, new projects grew significantly, but the investment in west region of China slowed down.
China's textile industry fixed asset investment rose 15.42 percent year on year to 178.488 billion yuan in the first quarter of 2015. Industrial investment growth up 2.05 percent than 2014 annual. The industrial new projects increased by 10.36% year-on-year, up 10.88 percent than 2014 annual. It reversed the negative growth in 2014.
The investment growth rate of eastern areas rose 1.74 percent year on year. The investment growth rate of the central region rose 8.41 percent over the same period of last year. The investment growth rate of the western region fell 9.71 percent year on year.
Export down 2.7%
The export scale of China's textile industry has been shrinking in the first quarter of 2015. The quantity grew higer than prices and textile export grew faster than apparel export.
According to customs data, from January to April,2015, China's textile and apparel exports down 2.7% year on year to US$ 79.648 billion.The growth rate fell 4.88 percent compared to the same period of last year. From January to March in 2015, the price of China's textile and apparel exports down 2.05%, the quantity increased by 5.21%. Of which, textile export rose 4.34% year on year to US$ 25.275 billion. Apparel export rose 2.17% year on year to US$ 36.155 billion. It is worth mentioning, in the first quarter of 2015, for China's textile and apparel exports, the United States, European Union,Japan, ASEAN were main markets. They accounted for 56.42% of our global exports, increased by 1.28 percent compared to 2014.
Domestic retail sales up 10.6%
The domestic retail demand scale of textile industry continues to expand in the first quarter of 2015, clothing demand growth kept pace with the overall. Department store sales kept growing.
China's total retail sales of social consumer goods rose 10.6% year on year to 7.07 trillion yuan in the first quarter of 2015. Limited consumer goods retail sales rose 7.8% year on year to 3.25 trillion yuan. Limited apparel retail sales rose 10.5% year on year to 330.16 billion yuan, the growth rate almost kept the same pace with the total retail sales of social consumer goods. Apperal retail sales of national key large-scale retail enterprises rose 3.9% year on year (the same period in last year was - 0.1%). Retail sales volume grew by 5.9% (the same period in last year was - 3.5%).
Profit up 10.88%
The profit scale of above the scale textile enterprises continues to expand in the first quarter of 2015. It kept a steady growth. In term of all sectors of textile industry chain, the profits of clothing and industrial textiles grew rapidly.
From January to March in 2015, total profit of China's textile industry rose 10.88% to 72.812 billion yuan.
Revenue of listing corporation up 5.12%
China's textile industry listing corporation's revenue has a good performance in the first quarter of 2015.
Up to now, A-share's Q1 financial reports have been published. operating income of 103 listed textile companies rose 5.12% year on year.
China's textile and apparel exports down 16.3% in April
In this April, China's textile and apparel exports down 16.3%. From January to April, China's total textile and apparel exports fell 2.7% year-on-year,the first negative growth in recent years.
According to customs data, in dollar terms, in this April, China's textile and apparel exports down 16.3% year-on-year to US$ 19.88 billion. Of which,textile export down10.8%, apparel export down 20.8%. From January to April, China's total textile and apparel exports fell 2.7% year-on-year to US$ 79.64 billion. In renminbi terms, China's textile and apparel exports down 16% year-on-year to 122.24 billion yuan in April. Of which, textile export down10.8%, apparel export down 20.8%. From January to April, China's total textile and apparel exports fell 2.5% year-on-year to 488.34 billion yuan.
China's textile and apparel exports were US$22.28 billion, US$23.75 billion and US$19.88 billion in Aprils of 2013, 2014 and 2015, year-onyear growth rates were 18.5%, 6.6% and -16.3% respectively.
Inventory grew 13% in three years
According to iFinD data, as of December 31st,2014, the inventory of 77 textile and apparel listed companies totaled 78.465 billion yuan,4.64% higer than that in 2013(74.984 billion yuan). From 2011(69.185 billion yuan) to 2014 (78.465 billion yuan), the inventory grew 13.41% in three years.
Apparel retail sales of 50 national key largescale retail enterprises only grew 0.9% in 2014,3.2 percent lower than that in 2013. Retail sales grew slowly, inventory has become a big pressure for textile and apparel listed companies.
The reporter concluded that inventories in 69 textile and apparel listed companies were above 100 million yuan. They accounted for nearly 90% of the entire inventory.
In addition,the inventories of Youngor, black peony group, Hailan's home, Zhongyin Cashmere Co; Ltd, JiHua group, Bros Holding Limited, Huafu, LuTai, metersbonwe, Changshantex, ST&SAT,Saint Angelo, Semir and other 15 companies were over 1000 million yuan.
Cotton planting intentions continue to decline
Recently, according to the second session of the 3rd China Cotton Association Council, this year's cotton planting intentions continue to decline, cotton planting area will have a further reduce.
According to the introduction of Zhang Yanhua,a person from rural economy investigation division of the National statistics Bureau , in 2014, national cotton production was 6,180,000 tons, cotton planting area was 4,222,000 hectares. At present, according to a survey about 2015 cotton planting intentions, cotton planting areas in 8 major cotton producing provinces all reduced, among which, Hebei province reduced 63,200 hectares, Jiangsu province reduced 13,700 hectares, Anhui province reduced 14,500 hectares,Shandong province reduced 63,200 hectares, Henan province reduced 15,600 hectares, Hubei province reduced 81,700 hectares, Hunan province reduced 9,600 hectares,Xinjiang reduced 70,000 hectares.
Du Min - the director of rural development research center of the Ministry of Agriculture, he pointed out that, in this year, cotton planting intention areas decreased by 22.3% in Xinjiang, among which, the cotton growers had big adjustments, the basic households were relatively stable.
