Staff members of the Peoples Court of Yunyang County, southwest Chinas Chongqing Municipality, distribute a printed version of the Constitution to students of a local primary school on December 2, two days ahead of Chinas inaugural Constitution Day.

The idea of holding nationwide activities to promote the Constitution was put forward at a Communist Party of China meeting on the rule of law in October. China has enacted four constitutions since the founding of the Peoples Republic in 1949, with the current one having been adopted on December 4, 1982.
