International Exchanges

On April 1st, 2014, CPAPD Deputy Secretary General Ms. Chen Huaifan met with Mr. Djudjuk Juyoto Suntani, President of the World Peace Committee, Indonesia, who headed the delegation, in the CPAPD office. The two sides exchanged views on issues of common concern including cooperation between the two organizations and the inheritance of Chinese culture.

On April 14th, 2014, CPAPD Deputy Secretary General Tao Tao attended the Five Nuclear Powers Beijing Conference entitled Comprehensively Strengthen the NPT Three Pillars held by China Association for Arms Control and Disarmament.

From May 11thto 18th, 2014, CPAPD Deputy Secretary General Ms. Chen Huaifan led a group in attendance to the Third China-African Civil Forum in Sudan and visited Tanzania. During the visit to Tanzania, they called on NGO Bureau of Social Development, Women and Children Ministry of Tanzania, and had discussions on the civil exchanges and tangible cooperation between the two countries.

On May 19th, 2014, CPAPD Deputy Secretary General Mr. Tao Tao met with Mr. Ross Gwyther, President of Queensland Branch, Australia-China Friendship Association, who briefed Australian peace movement. The two sides exchanged views on issues of common interest.

On May 20th, 2014, CPAPD Deputy Secretary General Ms. Chen Huaifan had working discussions with staff of the SaferWorld, UK, and the two sides had exchanges on China-Britain conflict prevention partnership toward the 21stcentury and issues of common concern.

On May 28th, 2014, CPAPD Vice President Mr. He Jun met with Mr. Sergio Ley, former Mexican Ambassador to China and Vice President of the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations (COMEXI) in Wanshou Hotel. The two sides exchanged views on issues of common interest including the cooperation between the two organizations and regional security situations. CPAPD Secretary General Mr. Zhu Rui was also present.

On May 30th, 2014, the presentation of the Brochure on Fidel Castro’s Thoughts on Peace and Disarmament, and the reception co-hosted by the CPAPD and Cuban Embassy in China were held. Mr. Zhu Rui, Secretary General of the CPAPD and Mr. Alberto Blanco Silva, Cuban Ambassador to China addressed the event. Mr. Zhu Rui also presented a calligraphy work by Mr. Song Bin, Council Member of the CPAPD and Vice Dean of the Painting and Calligraphy Institute of the University of National Defense as a token of friendship to Mr. Alberto Blanco Silva.

The brochure includes excerpts of articles by Mr. Castro, leader of Cuban revolution, written during 2007 to 2013 on peace and disarmament. It is published with the assistance of the Cuban Embassy in China and the CPAPD.
