Wilderness under the Stars– Liu Wei Solo Exhibition

Born in 1983， Liu Wei graduated from Hubei Institute of Fine Arts in 2006. Although he endeavors to disseminate “positive energy”through his paintings， it remains hard for him to define this “energy” with words. He believes this force to be dynamic like light and life. In this exhibition， Liu chose the theme of “wilderness under the stars” because he believes that when this period fades at dawn， the “positive energy”hibernates.

Shanghai Style， Xue Song Painting

Born in 1965 in Anhui Province， Xue Song graduated from the Stage Art Department of Shanghai Drama Institute in 1988. He is a member of Shanghai Artists Association. Xue excels at joining charred publications or broken pictures into pop art collages. His 13 displayed works imitate Chinese and Japanese paintings， but combine them with lines and color blocks typical of Mondrian and Josef Albers. His work presents unparalleled form and content like a virtual conversation between East and West.

FACE 2 FACE– Portraits and Interiors， Chinese-Dutch Painting Exhibition

This exhibition focuses on a classic genre of fine art – portraits and interior paintings – through the work of Chen Danqing， Jan Worst， Mao Yan and Philip Akkerman， four artists from China and the Netherlands. Chen Danqing， born in 1953 in Beijing， is a leading figure in Chinas contemporary art scene. The 1980s saw Chinese oil painting break from the long-established trend of ideological education to gradually regain essential artistic values. Chen Danqing was a central figure in the artistic reform and revival. Jan Worst， born in 1953 in Groningen， is an internationally renowned Dutch artist. His works probe the ambiguous and turbulent desires hidden deep in the human heart. Mao Yan， born in 1968 in Nanjing， is an important contemporary Chinese conceptual portrait artist. Philip Akkerman， born in 1957 in the Hague， Netherlands， constantly explores the endless possibilities in painting and art. He endeavors to reach existential contemplations of self versus human beings.

Dai Dudu Oil Painting Exhibition

Born in 1963 in Shenyang City， Liaoning Province， Dai Dudu graduated from Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 1985. He serves as vice president of Liaoning Arts Institute and president of Liaoning Young Artists Association. A leading figure among young Liaoning artists， Dai has long focused on heroism. His early representative work Yue Fei （an ancient Chinese patriot）， and Talking Divine Comedy with Dante as well as more recent large-scale work such as Salute the Masters all display strong passion for the heroic. Dai hopes his work will encourage people to live more bravely and ambitiously.
