JCC's Largest Copper Production Base Found in Zengcheng
On 29 December 2010,a ground-breaking ceremony for the 400,000-ton copper rod(wire) project of JCC Guangzhou Copper Co.,Ltd.(one of major projects of Jiangxi Copper Corporation (JCC) in the 12th Five-Year Plan period) was held in the Zengcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone in Guangdong.It is a great step by JCC to implement a development plan during the 12th Five-Year Plan and move the Pearl River Delta industrial base forwards.
According to a speech made by Li Baomin(Party Secretary of JCC) at the ceremony,during the 12th Five-Year Plan period,JCC will maximize its opportunities during its second coming,aim to mature into a world top 500 company,optimize the existing industrial layout and work towards helping to build 5 industrial bases in Jiangxi (Poyang Lake Ecological Zone),the Bohai Rim,the Yangtze River Delta,the Pearl River Delta and southwestern China.In order to further expand the copper rod (wire)market,become stronger,and achieve its longterm strategic goal,JCC has kicked off the project,the largest copper rod (wire) production base in southern China with the aim of blossoming into a copper manufacturer and supplier with the largest scale,highest quality and greatest competitiveness in South China.
As one of JCC's major projects for the 12th Five-Year Plan period,a 400,000-ton copper rod (wire) project has settled in Zengcheng,which suggests that JCC is making steady progress in building the largest copper rod (wire)production base in southern China.It is reported that the project has total investment of RMB 2 billion,covering a land area of approximately 90 mu,and reaching an annual output of 400,000 tons of copper rod (wire)valued at RMB 18 billion following the start of operations.The project will open on the premises of a high starting point,a new system,a large scale and care for the environment.Firstclass equipment will be used to meet the requirements of high-end customers,and new processes and technology will be widely applied to enhance that overall level of resource utilization and ensure the successful completion,operation and realization of economies of scale.
