Kempinski Hotel Dalian

The winners list for the 2009 Business Traveler China Travel Awards was recently announced. Kempinski Hotel Dalian won the “Best Business Hotel in Dalian,”showing its leading hotel position in the local hospitality industry.

Launched in 2005, the annual awards are organized by Business Traveler China magazine and voted on by Chinese business travelers. Familiar names and brands dominated the roll call, including airports, airlines, hotel brands and city hotels.

In 2009, although impacted by the world fnancial crisis, Kempinski Hotel Dalian provided the European style and high quality service with its renovated new luxurious facilities. In particular, they successfully served the summer Davos economic forum with individualized service, garnering many praises from guests, government offcials and the media.

Kempinski Hotel Dalian is situated in the heart of the commercial and business district and opposite the Labor Park. It is only a 20-minute drive from the Dalian International Airport and only a few steps away from a nearby shopping center. It comprises a 25-story Grand Wing and a 31-storey Park Wing and has 400 contemporary guest rooms and suites. The eight distinctive restaurants and bars, including Paulaner Brauhaus and Marco Polo Ristorante, bring together an exciting variety of cuisines and themes all within one location. The hotel also offers meeting and banquet space of more than 1,000 square meters and an Arabian style“Oasis Spa” covering 4,500 square meters.

International Branded Hotels of Shanghai

Recently the International Branded Hotels of Shanghai (IBHS) fundraising ceremony was held at the Children’s Hospital of Fudan University. Christophe Lajus, Chairman of IBHS, together with IBHS executive board members donated 500,000 yuan to the Shanghai Charity Foundation to help children suffering from congenital heart disease. After the ceremony, they visited the children in their wards to present them with New Year’s gifts.

Sunworld Dynasty Hotel, Beijing

Ken Tang was recently appointed as General Manager of Sunworld Dynasty Hotel, Beijing.

Having been in the hospitality industry for well over 20 years, Tang has worked as director of sales and marketing, resident manager and general manager for a number of leading international hotel brands including The Ritz-Carlton, Marriott and New World Hotels in Hong Kong and on the Chinese mainland. He brings with him a wealth of experience where he will oversee the hotel operations.

Tang is confdent that he will lead the Sunworld Dynasty Hotel management team to build the prestigious hotel brand in Beijing with its deep accumulation of hotel culture, upgraded facilities and the impeccable service for all business and travel guests in 2010.

The Regent Beijing

On top of being voted “World’s Best Hotel”by readers of Travel + Leisure, The Regent Beijing clinched “The World’s Best Place to Stay” Gold List of Conde Nast Traveler for three consecutive years, reaffrming the reputation of being one of the best destinations in the world.

Park Plaza Beijing Wangfujing

Park Plaza Beijing Wangfujing has recently been ranked amongst China’s top 25 hotels by TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice 2010 Awards.

The results are based on a poll where millions of travellers vote for their favorite hotels on Tripadvisor. com followed by a fnal review by the Travellers’ Choice Awards Committee.

Marco Polo Parkside, Beijing

Marco Polo Parkside, Beijing opened a brand new Japanese Restaurant, Matsuko, on January 28, 2010.

A traditional Japanese sake ceremony was held on the opening ceremony. Hotel General Manager Henk Meyknecht and CEO of Matsuko Zhan Weiguo opened the sake barrel and shared the sake with the guests.

In order to celebrate the grand opening of a new Matsuko at Marco Polo Parkside, all diners to the restaurant can enjoy a 20-percent discount for all food items with the exception of beverages, buffet and other already discounted dishes from January 28 to February 28, 2010. In March 2010, each table can get a complimentary chef recommended dish during their meal.

Founded in 1992, Matsuko inherits the legacy of traditional Japanese food culture and creates a new school of Japanese cuisine by mixing Chinese cooking style into it.

The new Japanese restaurant is located on the newly renovated basement foor of Marco Polo Parkside, being the ffth Matsuko chain store in Beijing.

Crowne Plaza Beijing Zhongguancun

Crowne Plaza Beijing Zhongguancun has achieved the prestigious Green Globe Benchmarked Bronze status under the Green Globe Earthcheck Benchmarking program managed by EC3 Global in November 2009. At the China Hotel Profession Brand Annual Summit recently held at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, Gloria Hotels & Resorts was proudly presented the awards of “Top 10 Hotel Management Companies”and “The Most Outstanding Management Personnel.” An award ceremony was also being conducted in conjunction with this event to recognize outstanding hotel management companies and individual hotel personnel.

The Ritz-Carlton, Sanya

The Ritz-Carlton, Sanya, joins forces with Sea Turtles 911 to save three endangered green sea turtle hatchlings. The turtles were rescued from local market by Sea Turtles 911, a non-proft organization dedicated to the conservation of sea turtles in Sanya, Hainan. A signifcant “welcome to your new home” kids party was held in the hotel’s Kid’s Pool, with more than 20 kids and their parents invited to learn about sea turtles in Hainan island. All kids are named“Sea Turtle Guardian Angels” by the hotel’s general manager with a mission to save and protect sea turtles and other ocean creatures. Three of these children won the naming competition with new names to the three sea turtle hatchlings∶ “Sisi,” “Lydia”and “Clyspher.”

Hilton Beijing Wangfujing

A ceremony for layout changes to Enewshotel.com was recently held at Hilton Beijing Wangfujing. Launched in 2007, the website has been devoted to leading the Chinese hospitality industry and has become one of the most professional high-end industrial media websites in the country, with the most comprehensive hotel information database and the largest number of registered users.

Crowne Plaza Beijing International Airport

This winter, a hot pot special at Yozakura Japanese restaurant will bring you the warmest greetings. Different favored set menus include Korean pickle hot pot and beef hot pot. The price is 218 yuan with a 15-percent service charge for two persons. The promotion is valid until February 28, 2010.
