Centro Bar & Lounge at the Shangri-La’s Kerry Centre Hotel

As one enters the Centro Bar & Lounge at the Shangri-La’s Kerry Centre Hotel and the noise and precipitance of the city dies away, one is immediately seduced to sit down in one of the easy chairs of the lounge area. The warm atmosphere of the room created by red and brown tones of the comfortable yet modern interior design makes you relax at once and presents an ideal location for business meetings during the day.

But Centro is also a hotspot for late night entertainment. Every night you can listen to Jazz or Pop jazz while sipping on your delicious cocktail or exquisite wine. The singers are of international standard and change every now and then to keep the musical program fresh. “Every three to four months we have a new singer. They’ve been coming from all over the world—Europe, Canada, the United States and South Africa—since 2003,” explained Simon Sun, Centro’s Floor Manager.

And there is of course the amazingly large beverage selection. In the center of the square-shaped bar are countless bottles of spirituous beverages, neatly sorted, ready for the mixing of cocktails. “When it comes to cocktails, Centro is famous for different favors of Martinis: Classic Martinis, Gin and Vodka, plus fruity Martinis.”

Apart from the cocktails, there are of course non-alcoholic beverages available as well as beer and wine.

A particular feast for the eyes is the transparent wine cellar that stores up to 500 bottles of wine and is sorted by the different types of wine, which are cooled accordingly. But those bottles are only a fraction of the entire wine selection. “Including all, red wine, white wine and champagne, there are more than 200 choices available for our customers,” said Sun.

In addition, the Happy Hour which is every day from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the offer of buy-one-get-one-free and the daily changing snacks coming from the gourmet kitchen makes Centro a very attractive place to go to after work.

Also notable is the fact that you can enjoy the fve-star service of this establishment 24 hours a day. So should you be overcome by the desire for a Beijing Cocktail or a world-class steak at 4 a.m. you can simply swing by and indulge yourself.

“We are doing our best every day to earn the accolade to be one of the World’s Seven Best Hotel Bars by TheStreet.com, be it service, music, wine selection, entertainment. Since 2003 we’ve been keeping the high standards we’ve set for ourselves,”said Simon Sun.
