Pullman Beijing South recently held an Annual Thank You Party for its corporate clients, travel agencies, government offcials and the media. More than 300 clients were invited. Excellent performances were staged at the party, including a wedding dress show, magic show and Latin dance. Everyone enjoyed the exciting evening, which provided a good opportunity for all guests to talk and exchange business ideas.

The Regent Beijing

The Regent Chinese Folk Art Exhibition was on display from February 4-10, 2010, at The Regent Beijing. Five Chinese folk art masters from Beijing and Hebei Province showcased their individual skills at the hotel.

Hundreds of artworks from fve internationally renowned folk artists Gao Dianliang, Xie Shanshan, Wang Yuzhu, Yu Guangjun and Mi Lingzhu were displayed, which include papercut, painting in the snuff bottle, dough fgurine, hairy monkey and Chinese knot.

Executive chef Hans Gorsler of The Great Wall Sheraton Hotel Beijing is proud to present tournedos Rossini at the French Bistro in March. Tournedos Rossini is a French dish purportedly created for the famous Italian composer Gioacchino Rossini. The dish comprises a tournedos of beef pan fried in butter, topped with foie gras and truffe and fnished with Madeira demi-glace sauce.

Western evergreen all time honored dishes such as fsh and chips, Lomi Lomi salmon cocktail, steak sandwich, Caesar salad and traditional Beijing dumplings are now available daily for lunch at Havana. Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Asia Pacifc’s leading luxury hotel group, recently signed an agreement with Chongqing Guest House Co. Ltd. to manage a hotel in Chongqing that is scheduled to open in late 2011. The 469-room Shangri-La hotel will occupy the frst 28 foors of a new 58-storey landmark building, a multipurpose complex incorporating offce space and innovative retail outlets.

Designed by East China Architectural Design Institute, the hotel will be located in the central business district, 45 minutes from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport and an eight minutes’ walk from Chongqing People’s Liberation Monument, the commercial center of Yuzhong District and the largest pedestrian street in west China.

Contemporary yet classically styled, the hotel will feature the largest standard guestrooms in the city with a minimum room size of 45 square meters. Guestrooms will feature urban views, and upper foor guestrooms as well as the Horizon Club executive lounge will feature river views. In addition, the hotel will offer a diverse range of dining and entertainment options, including a Chinese restaurant, specialty restaurant, lobby lounge and an allday dining outlet, in addition to a spa and health club, swimming pool, lounge, hair salon and an entertainment center.

The new Shangri-La hotel will have 2,000 square meters of meeting and banqueting space, including a 1,000-square-meter ballroom with 12-meter-high ceiling, the largest of its kind in the city, complemented by 10 function rooms to cater to different event requirements. A business center with multipurpose function rooms will also be available to suit the needs of corporate clients and meeting organizers.

Bruce Golding, Premier of Jamaica, was warmly welcomed by Thomas Ni, Assistant Executive Manager of InterContinental Beijing Financial Street. Golding was invited to attend a Jamaican investment seminar during his recent visit to Beijing.
