The design of Fu Niu Lele derives (起源；引申于） its inspiration from the farming cultivation culture of ancient （古代的） Chinese civilization, and bears the following salient features（特征显著）:

1. Showing the rich concept of the Beijing Paralympic Games. 诠释出丰富的北京残奥会理念和奥林匹克精神。

2. Embodying the harmony between man and nature. 体现人与自然的和谐共处。

3. Carrying rich national style and cultural features. 具有浓郁的民族风格和文化特色。

4. Cows are widely accepted internationally. 牛的形象在国际上具有广泛认同性。

5. Commanding space for future designs and marketing. 具有广阔的延展设计和市场开发空间。

相对于“奥运会”，了解“残奥会”的人并不多。

“残奥会”原是为“脊髓病患者”举行的运动会，其相应的英文表达是：the Paralympic Games。很明显，paralympic由词缀para-(在……一旁，在……旁边)和-(O)lympic(奥林匹克)合成而来，它延续了奥林匹克团结友爱、公平竞争的精神，同时又充分表达了奥运会和残奥会平等共存的关系。

其次，顺便再复习两个以前学过的单词：countdown(倒计时)；mascot(吉祥物)。
