Beijing once again found itselfat the center of international di-plomacy. Two months after the2008 Summer Olympics, whichwere a diplomatic extravaganza in theirown right, the Chinese capital played hostto the leaders of the 45 members of theAsia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). Amongthem were 10 heads of state and 26 headsof government and international organiza-tions.
