On October 8, 2008, the China Eco-Culture Association (CECA),the first nationwide non-profitorganization dedicated to pro-rooting eco-culture in China, was launchedin Beijing. Jiang Zehui, President of CECA,explained to Beijing Review the missionof the association and the meaning of eco-culture. Jiang is also vice chairwoman of theCommittee of Population, Resources andEnvironment of the National Committee ofthe Chinese Peoples Political ConsultativeConference (CPPCC) and co-chair of theboard of trustees, International Network forBamboo and Rattan (INBAR).
