A series of disputes cause another rift in the strained relationshipbetween the two Koreas.
The uneasy relations between Pyongyang andSeoul grew even tenser recently. South KoreanUnification Minister Kim Ha Joong said thatthe jointly run industrial park in Kaesongwould not be expanded until progress on the NorthKorean nuclear issue was made. Later, General KimTae Young, South Korea's new Chairman of the JointChiefs of Staff, told a parliamentary hearing that themilitary would attack a suspected North Korean nuclearweapons site if it believed the country was going tolaunch a nuclear attack on South Korea.
