1．…Icantgo home without you．没有你我就不能回家。

这是一个双重否定的句式(not…without)，实际上表达的是肯定意义。例如：

The girl went to school without breakfast．那个女孩没吃早饭就去上学了。

相关链接此句型有时可与if引导的条件状语从句(if…not…，…)互换使用。

例如：I cant do it without your help. 没有你的帮助，我干不了这事。

=If you dont help me，I cant do it．

2．The Taiwan earthquake killed thousands of people．台湾大地震使数以千计的人丧生。

thousand是个数词，当数量是一个具体数字时，thousand后不加“s”，也不加of介词；但是当数量是一个不具体数字时，thousand后要加上“s”，且thousands后

还得加of介词，表示“数以千计的”。类似的词还有hundred，million。例如：

There are about three hundred people in the hall．大厅里大约有三百人。

There are thousands of students on the playground．操场上有好几千个学生。

3．I could not see at all and I did not know if anyone was around me．我什么都看不见，也不知道我的周围是否有人。

not…at all是一个有用的句型，意思是“一点也不、根本不”，主要用来加强语气。

例如：He does not like football at all．他一点也不喜欢足球。

Last night I did nothing but watch TV．昨天晚上，我除了看电视别的什么也没有干。

温馨提示如果but之前的动词不是do的时候，but的后面就不能接动词原形，而要接带to的动词不定式。例如：

The doctor told him nothing but to stop smoking．医生除了让他戒烟，其它什么都没有说。

There was nothing for them to do but to remain silent．除了保持沉默以外，他们没有别的办法。
